About Ledger & Loom

What we are, and what we are not

What we are

An AI consultancy for organisations with questions that have gone unresolved for years. Not because they cannot be solved — but because no one took the time to truly understand them.

We begin by listening: the organisation, the process, the data. Only once that picture is complete do we advise on the best approach. That may be a bespoke AI solution, the advice to proceed elsewhere, or something in between. We stay involved until the solution does, in practice, what it is meant to do.

What we are not

Not a software company that builds for the sake of building. Not a firm with a ready-made toolbox let loose on every question. Not a party with a stake in any particular technology or vendor. Not an adviser who leaves once the work is delivered.

We advise on the basis of what your question requires — not on the basis of what we would like to build. If the best route lies elsewhere, we say so.And we help you find that road.

The person behind the firm

Robijn Hornstra

Ledger & Loom is the firm of Robijn Hornstra. His career, from court-appointed financial administration to businesses of his own, has one common thread: truly understanding complex, stalled questions before anything is solved. As a specialist in claims and disputes at a large logistics and aviation-related company, he saw at first hand how much becomes possible when someone takes the time to get to the bottom of a problem, and AI then takes over the executing work.

Selectivity

Taking on an engagement is, for us, a confirmation of the seriousness of the question.

We take on a limited number of engagements each year — not as a limitation, but as a condition for full attention. The intake is therefore mutual: you assess us, and we assess whether we can genuinely help you further.
